Hi everyone! It just occurred to me that you might not know about the show I mentioned in my first post: The Beginning.
Sherlock is a British television series that first aired in 2010. It currently has three seasons and will most likely return around Christmas 2014. Now I should tell you that each season only has three episodes per season. What?! You may be saying. Let me explain. An average Sherlock episode without commercials is one hour and twenty nine minutes. The episodes are centered around one particular case until its conclusion. Also Sherlock has a thing for cliffhangers that makes you just want to kill the creators of the show. *cough* Steven Moffat. *cough cough*
Now for the characters you see most often.
Sherlock Holmes - Sherlock is the only consulting detective in the world and solves crimes
with the science of deduction. He is not an entirely pleasant fellow
and often comes across as arrogant and rude. Fortunately through his
friendship with John, his less pleasant attributes have been tempered
slightly.
Dr. John Watson - John was recently discharged from military service where he was a
medical doctor in Afghanistan. His ex-therapist thought he suffered from
PTSD, post traumatic stress disorder, but in actuality, John had grown
accustomed to being in a battlefield. When he joined up with Sherlock,
he discovered his calling.
D.I. Greg Lestrade - Greg is a detective inspector for Scotland Yard. He might not have the
brightest mind, but his heart is good and true. Though Greg and Sherlock
clash often during cases, Greg holds Sherlock in high respect and views
him as a friend.
Mycroft Holmes - Mycroft is Sherlock's elder brother and is an official within the
British government. He and Sherlock have been at odds since they were
children. Mostly in part to Mycroft's belief that Sherlock is inferior
and slow; in other words, an idiot.
Now for characters who pop in whenever they feel like it.
James 'Jim' Moriarty - Jim is the world's only consulting criminal and is considered to be the
arch nemesis of Sherlock Holmes. On more than one occasion, Jim has made
life hell for Sherlock and John. As of now, he is believed to be dead,
but just how long will the consulting criminal remain dead?
Irene Adler - Irene, commonly known as 'The Woman', is a dominatrix and Sherlock's
first love (though he never did admit to it out loud). She is both
clever and thorough and certainly knows how to push Sherlock's buttons.
John and Mycroft believe her to be dead, but in actuality, Sherlock
saved her life and faked her execution. Current whereabouts are unknown.
Mary Watson - Mary is John's wife and friend to Sherlock Holmes. Mary, however, has a
dark and dangerous past which was once used against her to control
Sherlock and John. When her secret was discovered, John put aside her
past and accepted her by saying "The problems of your past is your
business. The problems of your future is my privilege".
That wraps things up for now. Later cats.

Fan Fiction
It's me again! How's everyone doing? Right onto business or lack there of.
Have you ever written fan fiction? It can be quite fun and it's okay if the characters go OOC, out of character. Characters are often interpreted differently depending on a whole list of variables; ethnicity, financial status, neighborhood, personal experiences, beliefs, or if your sane or not. Just kidding on the last one; though I am certain that I am crazy...the good kind at least.
Fan fiction can often help you work out deep seated emotions like fear, anger, loneliness, abandonment, etc. You can also express joy, happiness, excitement, love, etc. Fan fiction allows us to work with characters that have already been established, so we don't have to go to through the pain staking process of creating original characters and locations.
I, myself, write fan fiction. You can usually find me on fanfiction.net as Lady Artimes Blaine or on Hubpages.com as Artimes Blaine. I write a lot anime fan fictions; though because of my recent obsession with Sherlock, I have started writing a fan fiction called Dancing Minds. I'll let you in on a secret. Dancing Minds is just the first installment of this particular Sherlock series. There will also be Imperfect Paradise, Alchemical Romance, Celestial Mayhem, and much further down the road Forget Me Not.
You have to keep it hush hush. I don't want to spoil anything, but you just think about those titles and tell me what you think they are about. Anyways back to the merits of fan fiction.
Now be careful what stories you read, some authors are good, but some are just complete and total rubbish. I have spent many an hour reading fan fiction and often times I wanted to scratch out my eyes at the horribleness I have uncovered. I'm the queen of grammar and spelling, but if the story has a great plot then I overlook any mistakes, but when authors simply push a character OOC and don't have a cause or explanation for it, it makes the entire story choppy and unrealistic.
Uh oh, best stop on that topic before I start ranting. Laters.

The Beginning
My name is Tina Craven and I thought it was about time to create a personal blog. After watching the hit TV series Sherlock, I figured I should take a leaf from John Watson's book. Now onto some clarifying details.

See that wasn't too boring. Now for a few words of wisdom.
Life is hard, but you have to keep going and never give up. The world has indeed gone crazy; though I'm pretty certain it was crazy to start with. Unemployment has reached an all time high in the US, making it difficult for average people like me to get what people coin as 'A Proper Job'. I intend to prove everybody wrong and make a successful career in freelance writing which includes fan fiction, stories written by fans for TV shows, movies, books, etc.
Don't tell me I cannot do something, because I will make it my personal mission to prove you wrong. I am a dragon in the Chinese zodiac and a Capricorn, both very stubborn. I am the master of Jiggery Pokery, the art of creative solutions. Basically, if it doesn't work one way, I will use all my power of imagination to make it work another way.
When it comes to the darkness that lurks in the hearts of humans, that darkness can be banished with kindness. I speak from experience on that one. I see the best in people and nurture the light within and if there isn't any light then I will create it. Humanity spends so much time being driven by the lust for power and the all consuming greed, but if even a handful of people were to believe in ideals like honor, valor, and nobility, the world would be a much better place.
I know that such concepts are considered ancient ideals in this modern world, but I still believe in them and I try my best to instill them in others through my kindness. I help as many as I can. I am only one person, so I can't effect the world, but I can change people...one at a time. Maybe one day the world will get its head out of its butt and start working towards the betterment of mankind rather than its destruction.
Whoops, that turned into a bit of a speech. Sorry about that. *smiles sheepishly* Till next time.
