Themes Galore

Hey everyone!

Okay, this post is going to talk a lot about music, mainly themes and scores. We're starting off with one particular soundtrack/score and that is the one for Star Trek and Star Trek: Into Darkness. There was one song that actually inspired Sparkling Crimson, one of my stories on Fan Fiction. It's the bonus track on the Star Trek: Into Darkness soundtrack. It is called The Growl by Conway. Part IV - Lady in Red is where this song really shines because that dance scene in Part IV and V is what the song originally sparked. The story kinda spun itself around it and then grew exponentially into The Carmine Conundrum.

The next song from the same soundtrack is the Star Trek Main Theme which is what you would hear while the OC, original character, Artz is saving the Enterprise in The Carmine Conundrum. The third song from this soundtrack actually inspired a different story altogether. The song was Brigadoom and the story it brought about was Darkness and Light, my first story featuring Khan Noonien Singh as the main male lead character. I also liked the song Labors of Love from the Star Trek 2009 soundtrack. It has inspired some key scenes in a lot of my stories and it is an all around beautiful piece.

Next round of scoring is...you guessed it, the scores for BBC's Sherlock. The music from the series is phenomenal and is the second reason why I fell in love with the series. The first being Benedict Cumberpatch. Absolute favorite song from the scores is The Game Is On from series one. You could hear it playing when Sherlock is raving about four unexplained suicides and is practically dragging John out of the flat to go to the crime scene. *giggles*

Now, you'll be thankful to know that I am not going to list all the songs from the Sherlock scores that I actually like and the stories, chapters, and/or entire scenes they have inspired, so we are moving along to an even larger list because this next set of soundtracks and scores is from the one and only Doctor Who series.

Oh yeah, I will not even begin to list off the innumerable amount of songs from those scores because all of them are fantastic and will literally blow you away. Words Win Wars was absolutely epic in The Pandorica Opens. The Long Song from the episode with the God of Akhaten. *sniffles* Oh and A Turbulent Flight from the The Bells of Saint John. Up the Shard was pretty cool.

Okay, okay. *waves hands in a placating manner* Yes, I am a total Trekkie, Whovian, and Sherlock junkie, but in my defense I also love a lot of movie soundtracks and songs from television series like Yu-Gi-Oh, Fushigi Yuugi, Blue Seed, Inuyasha, Yu Yu Hakusho, The Legend of Legendary Heroes, Charmed, Dark Angel, Supernatural, Angel, Bones, NCIS and the movies featuring the Avengers were simply superb.

Fine, fine. I'll stop ranting for a while if it makes you feel better. *crosses her arms with a huff* I'll see if I can't find some other good songs and such to talk about. Maybe I should just start talking about TV shows. I bet a lot of you didn't know what Dark Angel was. *taps her chin thoughtfully before she grins like the Cheshire cat* I have an idea. Later cats!
